G.S.R. 793(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 83 of the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 1976 (60 of 1976), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the Standards of Weights and Measures (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 1977, as amended by   the Standards of Weights and Measures (Packaged Commodities) Amendment Rules, 2009 (vide number GSR 632 (E), dated the 2^nd September, 2009) namely:-

In the said rules, in rule 10, in sub-rule (1), in the Explanation, the words “the registered office of the manufacturer is situated of”, shall be omitted with effect from 1^st day of December, 2010.

Note:- The principal rules were published in the Gazette of India, vide, number G.S.R. 622 (E), dated 26^th September, 1977 which was, inter-alia, amended vide GSR 632 (E), dated 2^nd September, 2009 to omit certain expressions from the Explanation to rule 10(1) with effect from 1^st July, 2010 and the effective date of said amendment was extended upto 1^st October, 2010 vide GSR 551 (E) dated 21^st June, 2010.
